CHARLOTTE NC??

Post by BIGJAVSMA »

We are moving AGAIN, to Charlotte-Mecklenburg area. I am wondering if any of you are from there? I used to live in Durham and my husband is from Greensboro, but both new to Charlotte. I would like to find a therapist, pediatrician before hand just in case there is a waiting list for appts. Thanks in advance for any help.

Marlyn, Im in NC. As far as pediatricians, Im not sure but we take James to see Dr. Maureen Nelson, shes a physical medicine and rehab dr. there at Charlotte Institute of Rehabilitation and experienced in bpi. She is really a great person and dr. James also sees Nancy Murphy (therapist) and she has alot of bpi patients. She is a really great person too. They are both in the same building. Either one of them could probably help you find a pediatrician.

Marlyn:
Maureen Nelson is AMAZING. She is great lady. She trained with Laurent, Lee and Shenaq at the old (defunct) Texas Children's Hospital bpi center. She has a great way about her. I think you will be happy using her as a bpi specialist.

Good luck in the next move. Do you even unpack????

Marlyn,
I truly feel for you !! I know how that goes. I am an expert packer and mover though now, but hopefully we are finally settled !!! I know what you mean about crime, it is getting bad everywhere. Right after we moved into this house that we are in now in sub zero temperatures, there was a gang of boys about 40 of them hanging on the corner, I told my husband, these no good kids are not running me out of my neighborhood, so I walked over armed with nothing but my cell phone, told them my name, where I lived and told them that I would not tolerate their type of behavior and that they needed to go to their own neighborhood and quit hanging out and disrupting our neighborhood. They looked at me like, "LADY" what are you going to do. They wouldn't budge. I flipped open my phone and dialed the half of the police departments phone number, by the time I looked up, they had disbursed like a bunch of roaches. Now you tell me that they weren't up to no good. A year later, we have no problems in my neighborhood, because my family alone, called police when things started to happen. They don't even come near our block, they all know better. Three drug houses shut down. (TWO OF WHICH THE COPS KNEW NOTHING ABOUT) There was NO WAY that these fools were going to run my family out of our new home, they had done it long enough and you know what...the other day, I ran across the Sargent of the Police Department and he said," You know if we had more people like you, the crime would be moving else where, but people are afraid to call the POLICE"
Good Luck with your new move. My family and I have seen lots of neat places, but are really tired of moving. So we are staying put.
