Hi everyone,
I'm still doing all I can to get my nerves activated again, but I don't seem to be getting anywhere. My doctor and my cousin (who has a PhD in Exercise Science)have both mentioned neurolysis as a possible surgical intervention. They are thinking that b/c my BPI is due to surgical trauma, I have scar tissue build-up from the surgery as well as from lack of use of my shoulder.
I am PETRIFIED to have another surgery, especially after waking up last summer with what was later diagnosed as the BPI, but I also think I should aggressively pursue any treatment options that may help me.
I'd appreciate anybody's thoughts/advice.

still pluggin' along...
Re: still pluggin' along...
I ended up having to call my doctor on Tuesday b/c my symptoms are worsening. He wants me to stop all PT and rest my arm as much as possible. He said he's concerned about the nerves "scarring down." I have to call him back on Monday and let him know if I'm feeling any better, which as of today, I am not.
I think my doctor is going to mention neurolysis again and I just don't know what to do. One part of me says have the surgery if there's a good chance it will help, but the other part of me says to run away as fast as I can from another surgery.
I don't know what to do...

MB,
I hope things get better. thanks for responding to my last post. I'm worn out, last night was a tough night for pain. I woke up a lot and it sucks. My husband said I was even crying in my sleep. I remember dreaming it really was hurting.
The Doctor told me REST the same as you, If your like me it just is to hard to do. Yesterday I mopped my kitchen floor and it almost killed me... :.) but resting just is to hard.
Mopping is so fun with one and half arms lol but someone has to do it.
ok well, again thanks for posting to my last post. and fill me on any updates on you.

Re: still pluggin' along...
My doctor called yesterday to see how I was doing and when I told him nothing had changed, he set up an x-ray and an appt. with him tomorrow.
I will let you all know how it goes.

Re: still pluggin' along...
I saw my doctor yesteray, x-rays were fine, so he said I have either really irritated the nerves (I had been doing a bunch of stretches/pulley ex.) or the nerves are "scarring down." I agreed to try Elavil for the pain and hopefully things will calm down. If not, I may consent to the neurolysis surgery.
Anybody have experience with either Elavil and/or neurolysis?
Thanks,
