rushin stimulation

has anyone ever had rushin stimulation done before, and if so what was it like?

i suspect you've misunderstood someone's passing mention of "Russian" stim, which my PT spoke of as electrical stimulation of muscle tissues, purportedly used to give Russian athletes an edge in competition. don't know if such stim actually works for THAT purpose, but there is a muscle stim setting on the REBUILDER unit i bought online. it's meant to prevent atrophy of affected muscles whilst the nerves regrow and reconnect. in my case, the atrophy was already too advanced for recovery or prevention. (i suffered a major muscle spasm of quite long duration tn my right shoulder and upper back, resulting in compression of the upper trunk of the BP, leading to loss of innervation of the hand, wrist and thumb extensors.) a recurring theme in these posts is that soonest is best for most interventions. i'm 11 mos since i hurt myself. my neurologist had very little understanding of what was going on with me and i wound up doing my own research, GOOGLE ME THIS, looky there!, that looks like an interesting link,----on and on, eventually finding UBPN, G'bless 'em all! guess i spent a lotta time and energy chasing pain mgmt; acupuncture, massage therapy, narcotics, lesser drugs. icy numbness of thumb, crushing pain in forearm, extreme feeling of chill at the slightest breezes playing across the forearm, all subjective and due to misfirings of cutaneous feedback nerve fibers. pains finally controlled with CYMBALTA & NEURONTIN, then Neurontin dropped in favor of LYRICA. and i believe my brain has re-wired itself to no longer give much credence to the false pain messages.
I guess I go on at too great length here. Just trying to give some of the other lurkers a little overview of what I've been doing and learning lately. Hope it's been helpful to others.
