First visit to a neurosurgeon

Hi all. This is my first visit here. About 13 months ago I rolled my car several times and basically ruined my left arm. The arm itself has movement but my left hand has none. I've seen neurologists who have diagnosed the BPI and I've seen lots of Pain Management doctors with very little success. My first consultation with a neurosurgeon is next week. Any thoughts on what I can expect? Is surgery really feasible after this long? In reading other messages here, it sounds like the Mayo Clinic may be the place to be. It would be great to hear from someone who understands this huge bummer of a situation.
