Great news today!

Post by admin »

Today was our appointment with Dr Waters for her 6 month visit. He said that she will not need the nerve surgery after all. He said that even if we think he made the wrong decision, but most likely not, then we always have a few months still. He said he sees so much improvement that he was amazed and happy to see her doing the things she could do. I felt deep down that we would hear good news b/c of what I have been seeing from her, but now I know I could actually believe it. We will see him again in 2 months. She will be starting to wear a night time extension splint soon also. Now she will sleep with the helmet and splint...oh well huh? I think I could deal with that. He said that even if she doesnt need the nerve surgery then we still may not know whether or not she will need any kind of muscle surgery later on...which I already knew. I will take things one day at a time from here and try to stay positive about everything. I feel so much better tonight though!
For all of you who looked at my pics, thanks...and thanks to those of you who signed our guest book.
Goodnight for now!

Krista,
Thanks for sharing such good news.
You've enough to contend with with the splint and the cranial band!

Hoping that in 2 months the decision is the same.

Krista, Glad to hear the good news. Sorry we could not meet at BCH on Monday. We were there all afternoon but Justin's cast is off and he is doing great. Best of luck. Melissa

Krista, this is such wonderful news!!! I'm soo happy for you all!! CONGRATULATIONS!! Sounds like a good plan too -- having another exam in 2 months. Sorry about the splint, but I'm sure you know it sure does beat a post-op cast. I saw your pics and your girls are so cute! I can't get over Ella's smile! You did a great job on her helmet. What'd you use to decorate it? I thought it came like that until I saw the pre-flower picture. LOL! Thanks for sharing your good news. Take care. -Tina

Great News Krista,

We are all excited over here about Michael's up coming appointment with Dr. Waters. We are scheduled for May 1st at 8:30 in the morning. We will be leaving April 30th and staying over night for our morning appointment and then return home shortly after. It will be a busy week. After Boston he has pre-op testing the next day and then his spinal tap the next day. I will be glad when that week is over. We saw Dr. Waters once before back in Oct. of 99 when Michael looked great and he was 2 yrs old. I will be interested in what he has to say this time. I'll let you guys know what happens. Congratulation Krista! I love to hear good news.
