I was being really lazy this morning... had my breakfast and sat on the couch and closed by eyes for a moment. Woke up just shortly after - tv still on - and there was this program on with a woman doing exercises from a seated position (in a chair). She was doing this great, slow and relaxed upper extremity workout. I was mezmerized and my only thought was WOW! You guys need to know about this.

So I went to her site and saw that she has all kinds of DVD's out - she's an RN. And all I can say is WOW! Get this for yourself for a self holiday gift!

It's so non-stressful and she covers the whole body. All you might need is a chair and a towel or a theraband. She is delightful and compassionate.

Francine,

How would you stabilize the scapulothoracic joint while doing these stretches?

Mica,
These are not meant for BPI specifically, more for seniors as many of them have mobility and balance issues... YOu would need someone to actually hold the area still/in place/guide the movement for it to be for BPI specifically..

To self stabilize your scapulas you can press your back against the wall
OR
do them laying down

I'm sure that there are plenty of adults out there who aren't doing a daily exercise routine and I saw this nurse as presenting an excellent quality program... especially for people who have desk jobs and need to do something on a quick break to loosen up. Her upper extremity section is easily done sitting in a chair at a desk.
