Drug initiation vs drug withdrawal

Post by Janelle54 »

I am going through a very confusing time. I don't know what is caused by drugs I have been on just too long, had drugs I'm being taken off if or what are reactions from new drug added.

I was slowly taken off Neuron tin in September because I was starting to get the symptoms listed for a person just starting the drug; I was placed on a build up to lyricl. I am off Neurotin and take 375 mg of Lyrcia a day.

I was placed on Baclofen. This caused vision reaction, confusion falling asleep during an activity. This was removed as the reactions started.

I have now been taken off skelaxin.

I take 30mg of nortrptyline once a day Lyrica 150mg 2 x's a day & 75 mg once a day flrosemide 20mg once a morning, diazepan ½ ,5. or 10mg' never to exceed 60 in a day for treatment of severe contraction and spasm and 1/4 to 4 mgs of diazapan to handle the pain.

I started back to work 4 weeks ago on Tues, Wed and Thurs four 4 hours each day for 2 weeks, then it was part time for 6 hours. Went great I loved it

Then I started losing concentration, confusion and when I was a passenger in my husband’s car I would see the cars coming toward us in the wrong lane. I am not to work for 2 weeks and then try going back to 4 hours per day. I get very confused and lost when I'm typing.

Any Ideas
Please help with any suggestions.

Oh Janelle I'm so sorry you are going through this. I know how you were so looking forward to going back to work. As far as the meds go I'm sticking to what I got. Same recipe for over a year now. Sure I still hurt like crazy and would not care to lose one mg of any of them.
I don't know anymore what does what other than the rx I take to sleep so I can be of no use to there but I'll do what I can???

It's taking time. I'm doing better. I know that stress is making the contractions & spasms worse & stronger. Valium definitely helps.

I am taking methadone and lyrica. When the contractions & spasms are too intense I try valium 10 - 18mgs. That usually works; I have not needed demurral for over a week.

I started with a physiologist 2 weeks ago. She is great. I have to admit I have one advantage; she injured her right arm in a severe fall. She wears a permanent brace on her arm that barely moves. Talk about a pro who understands,

I just started back to work today for 4 hours, & 4 tomorrow. There will be 4 next Tues, Weds, & Thurs. I have to go slow. But I have made the promise I will be full Time by the end of Jan.

2007 Has been the real year from hell. I will celebrate its end with a glass of wine at midnight. I will then smash it against a hardwood tree and tell this year it no longer has control of me & Welcome 2008. The beginning of a New Year filled with all new wonderful possibilities.

Welcome 2008
