anyone's child using a recorder at school?

Post by blakesmom »

Blake is 10 and last year in 3rd grade they started playing the recorder. He had no problem until this year in fourth grade, they are obviously playing more notes and he is having to use his affected hand now. His teacher just told me last week that we could order him a recorder for disabilities. I went online and ordered it on www.wwbw.com in case anyone is interested. It is in 7 pieces that you can rotate to place the holes in a better position if you need to. You can glue it all in place once you find the right position. It also comes with instructions so you can play it with 7 or even six fingers.

Blake just got his. His Christmas concert at school is coming up in a few weeks and he was very frustrated with the fact that he couldn't play some of the notes for their new songs. ( I wish I would have realized the problem before) It is an Aulos brand. It was only $14.75

Hope this can help someone.
