Francine thank you for putting Michaela's pictures on your website! She was so excited to see herself on the computer! You just made her day!!She needed a "high".
I went to the emergency room Thursday night and was kept till last evening. I'm diabetic and got sick while we were in Texas, and kept riding this "cold" out since we were short on funds and I hate antibiotics, don't tolerate them well. Finally after 9 weeks I went to the doctor, severe sinus infection. My blood pressures , and blood sugers were up at home so I knew I had no choice but to got to the doc. They put me on a new ,very strong antibiotic called Avelox, in the cipro family. I'm allergic to penicillin and have taken Keflex and Cipro before with no problem. I took the Avelox pill and 1 hour later had a giant , hot hive on my stomach which was not there before I took the med. It kept swelling and got tight and hot. Hence the emergency room. I have lots of incisions on my stomach and every once and a while I get an infection in an incision scar so they assumed it was cellulitis and being diabetic admitted me. They did cultures and Blood work and my white cell count was normal but they couldn't understand why it was localized in one place. Then yesterday a.m 3 more hives popped up elsewhere, which finally convinced them it was an allergic reaction!!! Looks alot better now, Thank God. Since Roger had a heart attack in October, Michaela is very afraid when one of us goes to the hospital. She cried at school yesterday. We asked her to stay home but she wanted to go and then I guess she was telling the substitute and it hit her. Anyway, she needed something exciting and seeing the pics on the website got her going this morning. Thanks again Francine!
I guess I've been so involved in Michaela's recovery, I wasn't using good sense in taking care of myself! Next time won't wait to go to the doc!!!!! LeeAnne
