I just went and gave a womens self defense course and they had a reporter there with a cameraman and a photographer. Can't wait to see that on the big screen and in the paper.
Did I mention that I really, really , really, really hate to have my picture taken? ... I mean really!

Scott,
For what this is worth, our family thinks you are amazing. Every one of us (including Aria's grandparents and great-grandparents) read Outreach, and we had a conversation about you over dinner one evening, shortly after the article about you ran in the publication. Our conversation kept coming back to the way you refused to accept anyone's limitation, and how you kept your eyes on your dream (a career in law enforcement) and you GOT IT!
I can only imagine the stupid, insensitive things which have been spoken to you thoughout the years. Our daughter is not quite 15 months old, and I have had enough of them spoken to me to last a lifetime. And, I can only imagine that you would cringe at any published photo which displays your injury. However, to offer another perspective - I'll bet you have no idea how many people look up to you. And, while some stupid, small-minded people might see such a picture and wonder what is "wrong" with your arm, there will be some who see that picture and find new courage to overcome their own limitations. There will be some people who needed that inspiration desperately.
Our family did.

Dear Scott,
YES, I agree with Mica...you do inspire and you aren't even aware of it! I'll never forget meeting you in Cincinnatti in 2006 where we both got our very 1st BPI Consult/opinion in our lives. I hugged you tight 'cause you are another Scott for me to admire like my own Scott who never lets people stop him from his goals too, and many still try.
I wish I could se a video of you doing your "thing"! I just loved your article in Outreach too.
HUGS,
