Hi, My 10 month old daughter has a LOBPI from birth and next week Wed. she is going to be having surgery at children's hospital in milwaukee. I'm scared and nervous about this whole thing. She has improved a lot since the Dr's have last seen her, and they see her again tomorow. I would love for them to say that she dosn't need surgery now, but I don't think that is going to happen. I would like to know if anyone on this forum has had there children operated on by Dr. Matloub and if so was the surgery a success? Was your child better off as far as movements go after the surgery then before? I know that the Dr's say that there is no guarantee that the surgery will work they just say it won't make her any worse then what she is. But that is just not good enough for me I would like to know if these surgery's have worked for other people. When they would do the surgery either they would be removing scar tissue or they would be replacing a nerve since they are not sure, if there is scar tissue pressing on a nerve and imparing it or if it is damaged and needs to be replaced. I'm sure you all understand my concern, I'm a worried and concerned mother of a 10 month old baby, and I don't want to put her through any unnecessary pain if I don't have to. I would love it if I would get some responses back to this post. thank you all for listening.
