Hi,

Now what?
3 years after injury, 3 surgeries to the arm (more 3 to the right leg) the arm is still all paralysed, but, my families keep saying that is going to be better….eh… I know that is not possible… but, ok, I keep trying….

So, at the end of this month (November) I have a business trip to the States (I am in Portugal). I want to use that opportunity to see more about my TBPI.
I need your help to see if is near (or what’s more near) a good place to be evaluate.
I go to State of Illinois; Madison; Milwaukee; Brookfield.

If you know something good, please tell me, I don’t want to lose that life opportunity !

Thank you !

Hablo espanol pero no hablo portugues...lo siento!

Have you posted on the Adult Board? Perhaps an adult there can be of assistance.

I cannot recommend a specialist in the states/cities that you mentioned but, could I recommend that you send a videotape to Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, TX? The brachial plexus injury specialists there have done surgeries on adults. They do the surgery in an adult hospital, not the children's hospital! You could mail the tape while you're in the States so it gets there faster and costs less than mailing from Brazil. I'll have to find the address at TCH to which you would mail the video. Best of luck, Paulo.

here's where to send the video Paolo

Paolo - you will need to have the video transferred to the U.S. format first before you send it to them.

tmga66,
did Dr GH refer you to therapy? how old was your son for first eval? did you do therapy?surgery at TCH?if so at what age? just curious... im personally interested in watching children whose parents feel they are glad they had early intervention surgically- I want to see how much therapy they tried first and the time constraints around therapy and surgery- i am always interested when i hear of a doctor being conservative - thanks again if you feel like replying, if not, thats cool too
HAPPY ROMing :)
