Well its been ordered now I just have to be patient till it arrives. I'm renting the pathways TR20 machine for frankie it has 2 channels so this way I can tell if he is cocontracting he was doing that alot with the OT and we didn't know with just one channel on but when she put the other lead on him it really showed how some of the muscles were working in place of the ones that were supose to be. I just hope frankie doesn't get bored with it he seemed to have fun with it last week when he used it but we all know how that goes. Mare

Mare,
I am so excited for you and Frankie! I will be ordering mine very soon, I am just waiting to hear back from my OT to see if she knows how to get it covered by my insurance.
CAnt wait to see how Frankie does with it!

I am glad you are going to use the two lead machine.
I am using the Myotrac and wish I knew about a two lead before I purchase mine.
I find it hard to separate my muscles. I fire all my muscles the minute I move my hand.
Don't get me wrong I have made some really great progress, so far, considering the extend of my injury.
I can't wait to see how the two lead works and how much progress Frankie makes with it.

The biofeed back co just called said it should be here no later then tue. I'm hoping that having the two leads will tell us why his arm can't move away from his side. All the right muscles are working but it may just be he doesn't know how to make the arm move that way or that other muscles are working to making it impossible to go out to the side. When we tryed it last week we found that most of his exercises weren't using any muscles it was all gravity, i feel like all the nagging to do his OT was a waste and I just tortured him for nothing.I have a good feeling about this. Amy I'm sorry to say our insurance co ATENA said they don't cover the biofeed back machine I wish you better luck. Mare

Mare,
Can you say where you ordered it from and what was the cost (or please email me)?? I'm really thinking about switching to a 2-channel for the same reason. I'm sure that Joshua is co-contracting something inappropriate or not co-contracting something necessary!

Funny thing I got the web address from you. Tt is Access health.com it turns out our Ot uses the same company to rent. It is $85 a month plus $90 for a 3 month supply of pads if you decide to buy which is $695 all the money you spent on rental is applied so we are going to rent it for a month then buy it if it works the way we hope it will. The machine is a Pathways model TR20 dual channel surface emg biofeed back machine the man to speak with is Earl the # is 800-382-5879 to rent a machine you need a script from your doctor or Ot but to buy you don't need anything.
