Hi Ellen
I got your e-mail off this sight and sent you a letter about a week ago. I wrote asking for some help with a friend of mine; Pete. He is new to the boards and had a ton of questions. Your are still rather new to this injury and seem to be very knowledgeable having spent a lot time with the team of doctors at Mayo. My injury is 20+ yrs old and although I go to Mayo Clinic still to this day my injury is too old for all the new discoveries. Pete left yesterday for Mayo to have his 1st surgery today. He is young, 16 or 17.
I was hoping you could answer questions he had before he left. I don't know when he is coming home but when he does could you please reply to his 2 posts and see if you could help him, please??? His username is marian.
I would really appreciate it.

I don't recall getting your emails - I'm so sorry. My email is LNBram, and people often think it's 1n (as in the number one). Can you resend to LNBram@bellsouth.net?

Thanks,

Ellen

Hi Elleen~
I'm not sure what is going on.......the 1st email was sent to the e-mail address I got from this sight under your name. I got your note and copied your e-mail address you just gave me and it said "failure notice".......so then I copied my letter that I'm trying to send to you. Here it is:

Hi Ellen~
You don't know me and I don't know you, other
than reading your posts on the message board.
I am writing to ask you for some help. Recently
on the boards there was post made by "marian".
He is a JR in HS and his name is Pete. I know
him through my niece; she is friends with his
younger sister. He goes next Wed to "the team"
and they will preform, what I believe, an
exploratory surgery. Last night, Wed night, he
called me asking a TON of questions. He is very
scared and feels very alone.
I am asking for your help because my injury is 20
years old. From reading the boards this injury
has come a very long way. When I went to Mayo in
1987 this injury wasn't not common at all. There
was no "team". I helped as much as I could but
his injury is different than mine. I have C5,6
and 7 avulsed. The doctors believe his are torn
or stretched. They are going to do a nerve
transfer during this upcoming surgery.
Could you please respond to him and help as much
as you could? You seem to be the most
knowledgeable person for this injury.
I have a lot of respect for you. Thank you very
much.

Sincerely,
Kathleen Herff

Thanks Ellen-sorry for all of the confusion!

Can you copy/paste the failure notice into a post here? That will help me figure out what's going on, since it seems email isn't working.

I'm happy to try to answer Pete's questions, but I don't know how to get in touch with him. If you have contact info or email for him, that would be great. My cellphone is 404-312-4272 if that helps.

Thanks for staying on top of this!

Ellen
