I need to find a hotel in Philly

Post by Mom2Michael »

and I am not very familiar with the city (we've always just driven up and back as it's only +/- 3 hours each way). Michael has an appointment on the 20th - I won't know the exact time until the week before, but we've asked for late afternoon, so I don't want to drive back if we don't have to (would rather do something fun there and come back Sunday)

The place we are going to see Michael's surgeon is the Renaissance Hotel at the Philadelphia Airport. Their address is 500 Stevens Drive Philadelphia, PA. I had wanted to stay there, but at first it was too expensive - then my FIL said that he would help with the cost. I checked and they don't have any rooms with 2 doubles/queens and I am going with my mom and the 3 boys. I think that it would be a little much with us all in a king. :-)

So, now I need to try to find a close by hotel that is reasonable $ and not in an area that wouldn't be a "good" area for 3 children and 2 women.

Thanks for any suggestions!

I always suggest to cross one of the bridges and stay on the Jersey side. safer and cheaper. Look in Cherry Hill NJ. With plenty of reliable public transportation it is easy to get around. You may want to check out the Camden Aquarium.

Hi Sally - glad you posted!

http://philadelphia.airporthotelguide.c ... otels.html

this is a listing of all the airport hotels - how about extended stay or residence inn - they usually fit more people

they should be somewhat reasonable - if not, then try hotels in Plymouth Meeting (in the are where the picnic always was) - it'll be closer to getting home, too. And there's a movie theater at the mall if you want some fun time....

Do you have a cough or is there a reason to believe that you didn't really think it was such a good idea for Sally to post?
I don't get the cough cough thing.

I'm sick. Feel free to call me to verify that I'm hacking my lungs out 215-643-5913. Be aware that you'll probably hear some sneezing, too. Is that ok?
