Hi I thought I would try again. In Aug 06 I had a viral infection that attacked my brachial plexus. I'm still in constant pain and although both arms were affected my left side is much worse. I have really no use of my left arm and my right is very limited. I am on pain medicine and lyrica and I do pt weekly. It's been so long the dr'ss told me 1-2 years and that it is very rare for this to happen. Lucky me!!!!!!!!! I am 40 yrs old married to a wonderful man and have 2 great kids!! I don't know where I would be without them. It's been so hard on all of us. I forgot how good reading the boards made me feel! So I will be a daily reader again. Thank you for listening. Gina from New Jersey

Hi Gina
I'm glad that reading the boards help you.
It really helps to have people who understand your pain and sense of loss. I hope things get better for you soon.

Hi,
If you look on the board there is a mom who posted about her little boy who had the same thing happen.

Thank you - yes i've spoken with her. I was just trying again to see if there was someone new! Not that I would want that but because it's so uncommon would like to know more!

Gina,
I know how you feel. I have a brachial plexus injury from birth BUT 3 years ago I got a cold and a week later I was paralyzed from the chest down. Same reason, a VIRUS! I now have a partially paralyzed left leg, partial paralysis of my torso muscles (stomach, muscles in the rib cage...).
Amazing what a little virus can do!
Good luck,
Marieke (31, LOBPI and Transverse Myelitis)

hi gina,
yes i have talked to you, but i haven't heard much back from you. i am still really confused as what to do about this. i have gotten the same answer from a few doctors~ "he is a rare puzzle we are trying to put together" i am here in rochester to see what the doctors here say. i would love to hear about your stoy and your doctors view on this and what your recover has been so far.
i hope to hear from you
