Hey guys,

first of all i would like to thank everyone of you on this board.
you have been a great wealth of information and support.
On the 4th of August i had my primary surgery, 5 nerve grafts in all, all around 5cm long each on my c5 and c6.
After speaking to my surgeon, i am contemplating another recomended surgery.
We would be using fascicles of the Ulnar nerve and median nerve for renervation of my Bicep and deltoid.
my surgeon said the percentage recovery rate from my first surgery is around 50%-60%.
This new surgery has an 80% recovery rate.. as i have good flexion and movement of my wrist, hand etc.
recovery from this surgery should run around 3 months
what do you guys think?
i guess i will never know the outcome of the previous surgery. but being a percentages person, i am tending to think the second surgery would be of benefit. What do you think?

That sounds great I just started having movment in my shoulder about a week ago when in water so i think anther sugry wount be bad I belive in God and
i have a lot of faith in him but i do belive he gives other talnt to help. I told my dr that they can do all they can and God will do the rest my prayers are with you God bless

has anyone heard of this kind of surgery?

do you think it is a good idea?

did the dr say what the risks are? What are you at risk of losing if you go through with this surgery for a chance to gain in your biceps and deltoid?

thanks for your reply.

apparently im not risking the loss of any movement with this surgery. the surgeon said he wouldnt do that.
it is a bit iffy with my deltiod recovery.
bt the recovery of this type of surgery is allegedly 80% compared to the 50-60% of my nerve graft surgery.
so i think im going to give it a shot!
well im booked in for the 27th of october..scary as.

good luck eith the surgery! this sounds like the surgery i will be having to getmovement in my deltoid and bicep, i have an avulsion of c6. Please let us know how it goes.
