splinting

My little guy in the past 2 months has developed an elbow contracture. I am really frustrated because we have spent 3 full therapy sessions that have resulted in 3 splints, none of which have ended up working. He is still able to bend his elbow, slide his arm around, pop off straps etc. His OT has no real BPI experience & being from a smaller town the resources just aren't here. It is really stressing me out, because the contracture seems to be getting a little worse and we still do not have a splint that fits properly. I have given the OT information, and a # of another experienced therapist whom she spoke with on the phone, who even faxed her a pattern, and still no luck. I REALLY, REALLY want to help my son, but feel stuck. Do I need to buy plane tickets to TCH to get a darn splint. Help! Any ideas???
Does anyone know when a dynasplint is used versus a custom molded splint? From what I have read (I am guessing) is the dynasplint for more serious contractures??? Any pro's/con's you guys are aware of?
Thanks!
