New Here!

Hello, I'm Cassandra's mom she is a beautiful 12month old with Right arm Ob.BP(ROBP). Very Long story short- she got stuck and had the cord wrapped twice around her neck and was dying. The had to pull or we wouldn't have our first (IVF) baby! She had absolutely no movement for the first 4 months and now has limited forward abduction and shoulder stability and wrist flexion. However, she has no finger extension or grasp. I don't know the lingo yet, what is TT?
Thank You!
I originally posted this under the General Board, but it looks like this is the Ob. injury board, so I guess I don't know where to go. Sorry I'm new at this! :(

Welcome to the boards and I am so sorry to hear about your daughter's injury. Thank goodness she is here.

You can post honestly wherever you want to. This is the Obstetrical site but sometimes we post all over the place. You will meet a lot of great people on here and I'm glad you found the message boards early enough.

I found them about 6 years ago. I'm left injured from birth and I am 35 and holding!!

Again, welcome to the boards.

Welcome Cassandra's Mom. My name is Tanya, and I am Mom to Amber who is almost 5 years old with ROBPI (right obstetrical brachial plexus injury, so she was injured during birth). She had no movement in her arm except finger and wrist movement until she was about 4 months old, then we started to see a flicker of movement start to return. It's been a long, but joyous road to watch our daughter flourish.

You'll learn the lingo, just as I and many others have. "TT" I believe is referring to a specific surgery called triangle tilt. I'm not personally familiar with that surgery.

Feel free to post questions here, or on the general message board. We're all just a community wishing to help and support one another, so I would hope that nobody would chastise you for posting here or there. A question is a question.

Welcome again.

Welcome to the Message Boards.
It took me a long time to learn the LINGO.
I am 67 and right birth injured ROBPI.

I am glad you found us while your baby is so young.
You will need a place for support, information and venting as you move forward.

Feel free to ask any question there are no silly questions here and people will help if they have the information you need.

Enjoy your precious little one.
