Hi guys, hope you are all well.
well on the 4th August this year i had surgery replacing 5 sections of my c5 and c6. just wondering what is a good time to begin using an electronic stimulation machine? info in australia is very scarce. i have seeked the advice of my physio and she seems to think it is fine. im just looking for your opinions and experiences, as i dont want to hinder nerve regeneration. thanks for any replies guys.Shaun

Hi Shaunn, I hope YOU are well. I think everyone would agree there would be no harm trying it almost immediately. Lemmie go get mine and we'll see if it hurts...I'm so retarded. I'll have to hook the paddles/patches up to my laptop for you to feel it...l2m(laugh to myself?)
Seriously though if you think you are ready I'd say that is good news. Keep it set low and try the phase not the pulse. The pulse good be painful. Let me know how it goes mate.

I just put my T.E.N.S. unit on, thanks to you Shaunn for the idea, and halleluja I can feel it! It is only a slight stinging kinda probe so I thought the batteries might be dead. My son Jacob (who gets a real kick...literally from the 10's) put the patches in the same place and could not control the pulsing. It's funny to watch him try and take it all the way up the dial. He laughs and that makes me laugh. What a hoot. I don't know where to go with this new sensation now? I almost feel healed...yea right. I have stopped the amitriptaline w/o withdrawals...so far I think? What's it been a day? I am going to try to stop most if not all my meds. They aren't vitamins and I doubt they are magic pills that will aid in the regrowth of my nerves and muscles so what the hey?

After watching Jacob's arm contracting Shaunn be careful.

Hi Shaunn. Any sensations with the TENS?

hmm.. currently i have the settings as follows: Frequency 20 Hz, pulse width 0.2ms, stimulation 5 seconds, rest 5 seconds, duration 30 mins.
i can definitely feel it, and feels like blood is coming to the area as it is warmer. looks like the area is slightly vibrating too slightly...ok change that, i have changed the position of the electrodes and it is actually making my bicep move! joy!!!!
hmm.. does anyone have settings that i can try?
its a pain that there isnt many knowledgeable people here in adelaide. trying everything i can buddy!

Did it not come with a guide/handbook? My NMES did.. I'll take a look at what I have as pre-programmed settings and I'll let you know.
