Olivia is scheduled for her tendon tranfer with Dr. Kozin on October 16th. Therapy will be the week of November 12th and we will stay at Ronald McDonald House. I was wondering if anyone else was going to be there at that time? I am already a nervous wreck, just worried that I am making the right choice in having surgery. At to top it off, they just scheduled my deposition for October 9th! Let's just hope that stress will help take off some extra pounds and not add any on!

keep us updated on how the surgery goes. Drake has his first evaluation appt. on Halloween so we will be there the same time as you Melanie. Drake isn't scheduled for any surgeries yet but in the future i'm sure he will have to have some type of tendon or muscle transfer. so i'm trying to pay attention to how everyone else does with the surgeries.

Felicia, Dr. Kozin performed surgery on my daughter in 05, two other children had the same procedure, we were all in the same room and were able to talk. I am sure you will not be the only family having surgery that day. Dr. Kozin is very good and also cares about his patients and their famlies. It would be easy to tell you not to worry since your child is in very good hands, but I know how difficult it is when it's your child going thru any type of surgical procedure. Good luck and best wishes!

Wow thanks for the info, as I know I will feel a little better knowing at least i won't be alone waiting. Dr. Kozin & staff are very caring I agree.

I will keep everyone posted! Thanks for the support. I'm still trying to figure out this whole moving from the crib to the bed thing and whether or not I should do it now...I can just picture Olivia climbing out 100s of times, opening drawers and pulling out clothes, getting into all sorts of trouble! Anyway, I am looking forward to getting it done (the surgery) so we can continue to move forward and make even more progress. I am very confident with Dr. Kozin...I have heard only wonderful things about him

Hi,
My son had surgery with Dr. Kozin in March. We also stayed at the RMH and both times we were there, for surgery and therapy we met other families with BPI children. Especially during the week of therapy. There was actually another little boy there one year older than our son who got his cast off immediately after my son. He was also staying at the RMH and the two of them became best buddies. It was a great experience and Dr. Kozin and staff were wonderful. Good luck with everything.
