Veteran ARCA driver Bobby Gerhart of Lebanon, injured in Saturday's Pennsylvania 200 at Pocono Raceway, has been diagnosed with a left brachial plexus -- or nerve -- injury at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Gerhart's spokesman said Monday. Gerhart, who also has a possible fracture of his vertebrae, will wear a neck brace for comfort.
Gerhart, who remained in the hospital through Monday afternoon, was involved in a major accident on Lap 56 of the 80-lap race. He was able to exit his No. 5 Chevrolet under his own power following the multi-car incident, but was flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.
