Hey all. I just finished up a book and am looking for a new read. I saw that Dr. Nath has a book out. I was wondering if anyone has read it? I wanted to make sure it is dumb GA folk terms. I want to make sure I will be able to understand what I am reading before I purchase it. Any input would be great. Or if anyone knows any other good BPI related books let me know. Thanks in advance for your help!

It is written assuming very little medical or anatomical background. As such, you shouldn't have any trouble reading it. Being able to judge the arguments made in it is another story...

It is a very great step for our bpi world in knowlegde of what bpi is! i NEVER heard of erb's palsy until my child's birth. is is easy to understand and ALL our therapists enjoued it! it explains how this injury affects the muscles, bones and what "he" thinks is the best soulution & treatment. others will of course disagree and it is their right to.

Dr. Nath gave us a copy when my daughter had her surgery a few months back...I have not read it yet but it looks to the point.
On a different note, I was wondering if you received the email I sent about the atlanta area gathering this saturday? It is also posted in the event section. Let me know...we would love for you and your family to come.

Yes, it is fairly easy to read and understand for the avage joe/jane, I got one from Dr. Nath, and have read it meny times, shared it with 3 therapists and 2 docs and our school. It was an easy way to help family and friends understand what I would talk about too.

The name of Dr. Nath’s book is Obstetric Brachial Plexus Injuries –Erb’s Palsy- ; The Nath Method of Diagnosis and Treatment.
Here is another BPI related book. This book was recommended by Karen McClune and I’ll second her recommendation to ya’ll.
One Soldiers Story by former U.S. Senator Bob Dole is a good book that contains many letters that he wrote to family and friends. The letters start during his Army basic training and continue through his hospitalization and rehabilitation at Percy Jones Army Hospital in Battle Creek, Michigan.
The book is written by someone who knows what it is like to wake up every morning with a little extra challenge. And it shows the inner strength we all have to overcome any adversity, if we are willing to put forth the effort.

Dr. Nath gave us a copy when we saw him a few months ago and I had to read it twice. I think he explains things well, but I just needed to go over things again.
Hope that helps.
