Yesterday on this show which is about a birthing clinic manned by midwives was a women who was having her 2nd baby. Her first had bpi. They also had to break the 1st baby's clavical to get her out. I saw the little girl and she looked to have a pretty good recovery...they did mention ongoing PT. She had a healthy 2nd baby at this birthing center. I was kinda shocked she had the baby there considering the complications of her 1st delivery. I thought maybe she might want to be close enough if a c-section became necessary. I thought it was rather risky. My husband and I want to start trying soon to have another baby and I don't know what to do. I'm going to a new dr next month. One recommended by a friend so I guess I'll see what he says about trying vaginally or just going for the c-section. I kinda just want to do the c-section, but then I'm scared of the recovery and complications of that too. I'm confused! Just wanted to share that story.

Hi Shari -
My first child was born in a hospital and ended up with a BPI. It was a traumatic experience and I wanted to do things differently the second time around. My daughter was born at home with a wonderful midwife attending the birth, actually in Houston. It was really an amazing experience. If you would like to chat feel free to drop me a line at smendelman@yahoo.com.
