Hi everyone,

I know I haven't been on in a while but been really busy. I work in a school and its the end of the school year and my son has been sick. BUT I wanted to share some really good news that we received from his doctor on Wednesday. Currently we had Amaru scheduled for primary nerve surgery in July but his doctor feels that he has done great progress on his own and feels he does not need it. I am so happy!!!! The only thing that still needs some work on is his wrist which remains flacid. He did state that if he does not get that going he can do tendon transfer. I figure we take things one at a time. I just wanted to share that with all of you and thanks to those who always post and give a new mom some great support and advice.

So as I just finished posting this my husband calls me and tells me that our pediatrician does not agree with our doctor's reccomendation. UGH!!! She has had extensive experience with BPI and has been a wonderful and informative person. So my husband are deciding to get another opinion on the situation. But I know that in the end we are going to have to decided..this sucks! I feel like we are going to be starting all over again. Well I can only keep praying and hope that we make the best decisions.

How frustrating! I would think that the specialist would know more than the pediatrician though, no matter how many BPIs he/she's had. A second opinion never hurts, I guess. I'll keep you in my thoughts. Shelly

I can't imagine how frustrated you must be. I just wanted to say that I'll be praying for you and your family as you face this difficult decision.

Maria,
that must be beyond frustrating! Second and third opinions never hurt. I hope that if you get more opinions that the decision you face is an easy one.
Good luck!!!
