Well EMG #1 is over and done ( Thank God)

We had to stop 3 times due to pain and eventually didn't complete the entire test due to pain, but we did get some useful information.

I have a lot of raw data that is confusing, but the summary included some abbreviations I'm not familar with, so maybe you guys can help.

1. Abnormal right median motor NCV due to absent CMAP, study somewhat limited by pain.

2 Abnormal right ulnar motor NCV due to very severe attenuation of CMAP.

3. Abnormal right ular SNCV due to severe attenuation of SNAP.

I am struggling with NCV, CMAP and SNAP, can anyone help with what those mean?

I believe that NCV is Nerve Conduction Velocity...or speed at which the nerve is transmitting the signal.

Snap was referred to on Dustin as the Muscles that are right below the elbow toward the more boney side. There are a group of muscles there. It works with wrist movement. Sorry don't know the technical term for that part of the arm.

Hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in.
