What's your take on this new pain?

Dustin has been one of the more fortunate with this injury as he has had up to this point no real pain to speak of. Occassionaly he would comment "Wow it feels like something is waking up". That would last briefly and that has been all the pain up until today. He just returned from class to say that it feels as though someone was sticking daggers in his arm, all up and down it. I know that sensory nerves wake up first. Could this be nerves waking or an indication of things to come?
I'm hoping the nerves are waking and it will be a good thing. Anyone else have this sensation in the BPI arm? He's 17 1/2 mos post accident. Has some loss of feeling in area's but muscles have been gaing strength although nothing functional yet.
Thanks
Sue

I had similar pain/feelings when my nerves "woke up" 1-2 months ago. I had a Nerve Conduction Study soon after that showed my injured nerves showed electrical signal for the first time since my accident March last year.
It may be a great positive with these feelings happening. Best of luck for you!
I'm sending you positive healing vibes your way from mny little spot in Australia
I think I posted about this, do a search of my posts for the past few weeks (not many!) and see what I posted (bit busy at moment to) but I'll give links later if I haven't posted so you can compare my feelings and see if they are similar

Wazza,
Thanks for the healing vibes, and same back to you.
Did you notice any changes after the nerves woke up?
Also was the pain short lived or does it persist?
Thanks, Sue

ptrefam, the only changes I have felt basically is more pain but it was more spread and/or deeper "in my skin" to where I was used to the same old pain past months. It's why I was somewhat hopeful that it might be a sign that the nerves were "waking up"and I am happy that the Nerve Conduction Study has shown this
I have noticed a little bit movement with the way I can move my arm, very slight so I am not 100% sure it is "more". When I lie down, I can move my arm up vertically, just as long as it is a position so my tricep and control my arm (as the nerves to my tricep is not injured or totally stopped anyway).
If you need any other questions/answers, don't hesitate to ask. I don't mind helping in any (little) way I can

WooWhoo!!...After months of working out today was the first day Dustin said he could feel the bicep feeling tired. Previously he couldn't tell if it was tired or not. So, now we know it is strengthing. He can pick up 5lbs on the bowflex when laying on his back. From the top of his hip to his shoulder. So not from the floor yet but gettting closer. Before he had to do it on his side.
