Hi everybody,
I'm Dawn, mom to Cassidy 12months with a ROBPI. Cass had her primary surgery in February and I posted this question over at the general forum but I wanted to ask all you adults that have this injury the same...I'm curious about the age at which you walked and if it was later than the usual 12 months and maybe some things (if you know) that your parents did to help you out in that area. thanks for your time and info!

I'm not sure at what age I walked. However I never crawled . I was able to skip that stage though and moved on to walking just fine. I'm sure she will catch up.

I was told I walked late,@2-2&1/2-3yrs...I never crawled.

My ownpersonal theory is...[my own son had a trauma birth,NON-BPI, with multible "anomalies" most corrected surgically]...each individual has their own internal time clock for developmental milestones.Each will reach at their own pace with interventions such as PT, OT & Surgeries. Children ARE RESILIENT to surgeries and tend to recover faster than adults.

Thats My Opinion.

Hi,
My mom said that I walked early... though didn't crawl a lot, as I had trouble doing so, did more of the 3 leg/arm crawl... Guess I got fed up and decided to walk!

My Mom said I walking around at 9 months old.
I never crawled but I think genetics plays a big part when it comes to the age a child walks. All of my children were really walking around on their own by 9 month. All of my nieces and nephews walked early and were on their own around the same age. So I just assumed that was the right age to walk. Until I realized none of my friends children were walking around until they were a year or in some cases much older.

I would guess most obpi children never crawled.
