In a car accident...OBPI arm involved.

I was in an accident yesterday. A lady pulled out in front of me. Cops said she didn't see me due to sun and shade. Car was totaled and I was taken to hosptital for panic attack and pain in my neck and left shoulder. The seatbelt caught me right on my OBPI shouldner. I'm in a neck brace and arm sling for a few days at least. Nothing broken but could have some tissue damage. Said if I don't feel better in 2-4 days to see my regular dr. So for now I'm on some nice drugs and confined to bed (DH won't let me up). I'm pretty sore but it could be worse. Because it was my obpi arm is there anything else I need to think about or do?

Oh man, that must have been scary. I am glad that you are allright, nothing broken. You are going to be real sore though, and stiff.
Hope you heal fast!

My orthopedist has generally advised me that the BPI arm will take a few days/weeks longer to heal from additional injuries than the other arm. Maybe you should see your regular doctor or if you have an ortho or another doctor that you check in with about BPI stuff. I think its better to check on that stuff right away rather than wait. Keep the sling on for more time and rest that arm. I'm glad you came through with no major injuries.

Christina,
I am glad that you were not injured more. Stay in bed as long as you can and when you are mobile check in with ALL of your DOCTORS ASAP.
Take care of yourself.
HUGS,
Carolyn J

Here's something that you need to do: Consider this a get well card.
Sorry to hear about your accident.
Hope you will be up and about in no time.
Get Well Soon!

Thanks ladies. I'll be calling my drs tomarrow morning. DH is also concerned that I might suffer something down the road if I don't.
I'm suppsed to see an ortho for the first time on wed. Other than that it's my neuro and pcp (who refers me out when it comes to my arm because he doesn't know any thing about it).
sorry if I don't make much sense atm. My meds make me stoned.

Wow...
As if you have not had enough already.
I am glad that you were not more seriously hurt but I think it must be frightening to hurt your arm.
It will probably take longer to feel normal again.
Get plenty of rest that will help.

Well, my latest update is that I have an e-stim machine at home. I start pt tomorrow and am still on muscle relaxers. Just have to wait and see what happens.
