Had my post-op follow up today at Mayo!! I have what I have!! Nothing that they can do is really worth it, huge risks with very little to gain! So it is what it is!! Oh well I guess, I tried and have run out of options!!

Greeving process again? I hope it doesnt last as long this time around!!

Courtney :)

I'm sorry to hear it didn't work out the way you wanted.
I'll pray your acceptance and self love comes back to you swiftly so you can move forward happily in life's great adventure.

Hey Court,
I am sorry too that things turned out the way they did. Take the time you need to accept it. Just remember that you have friends and family who support you and love you.
Good luck,
Marieke

Hey Court

I got the similiar results from my Mayo trip Drs felt the was less reward than the risks to do anything more. Kinda disheartening but I think deep down I already knew it I just needed someone to reaffirm I had done everything I could do. My accident was in Aug99 kinda wondering where to go from here. Sometimes I think life would be easier with my flail arm but not sure if I could go through with amping it either. I guess we all get to a stopping point but in a way its a relief to know surgeries are over and you can go on with your life.

John

Hello Courtney,

I don;t even know you, but i have read of you. I find your positive outlook on this life, refreshing and encouraging. 9 Operations OMG!

Being a new MOM to a 25year old TBPI, I wish to show a positive out look but also do not want to give a false sense of hope to my son.

At this point we don;t even know the extent of his nerve damage but i sense it is bad due to the Pain level and no function at all. Time will tell.

I am curious. Have you gained any function after 9 operatons ?

Courtney,
My heart goes out to you. I know I have exhausted every surgery possible but I still yearn for more return of function (who doesn't), and can't imagine what I'd feel if one of those surgeries didn't work. I'm proud of you for trying to make the best out of what cards you've been dealt!

Be well, be strong.
Chris
