What exactly is a Drez procedure?

dorsal root entry zone...I think is what it stands for. It is a surgical procedure where the spine is opened and the roots of the nerves that have been avulsed are carterized or something to that effect. Its supposed to make them less sensitive. Its not a commonly done surgery and the results vary. Some people get immediate lasting relief and some get worse pain. Only a few surgeons do this surgery. Dr. Nath recommends it but does not do it. On his web site, someone has posted a question about it. There is a response from someone who has gone through it.
