Hi! My daughter, Olivia, will be 3 in april. Olivia's injury is bilateral. Her right arm is much better than her left. We have had 2 surgeries- the mod quad at 25 months, and the triangle tilt at 30 months- both on the left arm. Looking at the ct scan, Dr Nath thought Olivia would also need the mod quad on the right side, but then he saw her, so for now we have put off this surgery. I have spent the last 30 months dealing with this alone. How wonderful it is to be able to communicate with other people who really UNDERSTAND.

I have been reading everyone's posts, and learning so much. This site is a blessing, really. I have read the posts and sobbed. These children are so strong- I pray for that strength.

Anyways, I don't really have any questions right now, I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm so sorry we all have to be here, but it is so good to find community. thank you.

Hi Veronica,

Welcome to the board! Our daughter, Aria (6 mo), also has a bilateral OBPI injury. Olivia is the only other bilateral child besides Aria I've heard of. Last week, she underwent primary nerve grafting surgery on her right arm. (Her left is much better, but still no external rotation.)
I wish you luck with your upcoming Dr.'s visits. Hopefully, our girls can at least avoid surgeries on their better arms!!!
I'd love to hear about your Olivia. :)

Thanks so much for your responses. I am looking forward to chatting with all of you too.

Mica, you said your daughter also has a bilateral OBPI. It sounds like our situations are much alike. Really- are we the only people whose children have a bilateral injury? I am going to post a new topic, asking if anyone else is dealing with a bilateral injury also.
