This weekend we had a No More Splint Party!! It was great! Bailey had the Caps splint on for her birthday and for Christmas so we decided that she deserved a special party. We went to ChuckyCheese. It was so crazy! We invited her Grand parents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and a few of her special little friends. We celebrated how great she did in the splint and how she doesn't need to wear it anymore. (now she can wear her little brace - dyna splint) She felt so special and it went great.
Just wanted to share! Jodi

Congratulations Bailey!! The party sounded like so much fun!!!

We were thinking of doing that too actually - but just her therapist and maia and me and an airsplint so that Maia could try crawling in that ceiling maze they have. Is Bailey able to do that maze?

Congratulations to Bailey on no more splinty!!!Blake's little sister is a Bailey, I just love that name!!!

Yes she went in the tunnel maze this was her favorite part. I don't know if she was supposed to but she did and she loved it. I used to take her to McDonalds every couple of weeks for a treat. We would have an ice cream cone and play in the tubes. It was one of the things she missed the most about having to wear the splint.

Thats funny about Blake having a sister named Bailey. I had a son 6 months ago and we almost named him Blake he ended up Noah but Blake was a close second. We ended up deciding after he was born.

Hi, Jodi. I like your idea for the party. We had planned the ultimate celebration -- a trip to DisneyWorld! Unfortunately, I had to postpone the trip b/c my f-i-l is very sick with cancer. So, I have to come up with something local quickly. I am soo ready to get rid of this splint. Congratulations, Bailey!!! Great job with the splint! -Tina :o)

That sounds so much like what we did for Corey after his MQ splint came off. We ended up calling it a "brace" since he couldn't pronounce splint very well. We put up a calandar on the refrigerator where he could easily see it and counted down the days!!!! It worked great. Then, after the final night of wearing it, I gathered all the neighborhood kids who were around and took them and the parents to Chuck E Cheese also! They had great fun. We picked up an icecream cake and that evening all the kids and neighbors came over and sang "Happy No More Brace Day To You!!" Then we colored the "brace" and made a ceremony out of putting it in the closet. Corey thanked it for it's help but, "I don't need you anymore!" It was really one of the BEST days! I think it really made him feel like he accomplished something. I hope everyone can somehow make that a special day for their child. LOL
