Hi all,
I was reading on the other boards about sunburn and how the injured arm/arms may sunburn lots easier. Would any of you like to share your input on this please? My daughter is 10 and so far has always tanned evenly on both arms, but I'm wondering if this might change as she gets older. Does anybody here with an injury get sunburnt easier now on the injured arm/arms but never had a problem as a child? I am interested and curious about y'alls experiences if you'd like to share. Also thank you to all who offer advice, input, or share experiences - I learn so much from everyone. Thank you! Christy
Does your injured arm sunburn easily?
Re: Does your injured arm sunburn easily?
My injured arm has always had temperature regulation issues. It sunburns more easily, it does not sweat, and it is very sensitive to heat and cold both. In my case T1 was injured too (I have Horner's syndrome) and I think there is some connection maybe with an injury to T1 and damage to the sympathetic nerves that regulate temperature? Does anyone else know?

Ditto on Nancy with one exception....
I sunburn very easy... I am a redhead... so -- I need not say more....
I cannot feel heat on the obpi right arm.... Cold sends me into real pain... No ice... ever.... my circulation is poor so my arm is always cold... and will burn faster because I cannot feel it burning...
Also Christy hot water warning.... ops Brit is lobpi... but for right obpi... many turn on the hot water and forget to put the cold on... now Brit may turn off the cold water first and leave the hot with out thinking and burn the little hands...
I do it all the time you would think that I would remember... duh...
I need ten gallons of # 45.... but cannot feel the burn... I also have Horner's... and no sweat either...
I think if she tans... she will always tan... at least I hope so... even my redheaded kids tanned... that is why I married an Italian... so my kids would tan ...LOL...

I am 51, left OBPI.
My left arm has never tanned the same as my right, and I usually get more sunburned on it.
I've always accounted this to the fact that the skin on the bpi arm was more "delicate"( for lack of a better word) than my other arm. Also, there's the sweating issue that's been mentioned...I do sweat on the bpi arm but not as much.
The injury to T1 is something I've never heard of before?
What exactly is it?
