I was having the same problem as you thinking about the bathing suits. Michaela will be going to aquatherapy straight from school and I didn't want to waste time changing. Light bulb!! Two piece suit will work great. Michaela has a little tummy so the Tankini style worked great. It doesn't hurt her incisions and the armholes were plenty big, the bottom came up to her waist and the top came down to her waist. The bottoms will come down just like panties when going to the potty. I don't know if Maia is old enough to handle this part. I put a panty liner in the bathing suit bottom in case of a dribble spot or dampness from not wiping good. Then when we make her go to potty before getting in the pool she can remove it and throw it away and she's still clean for the pool.Doesn't involve changing the pantiliner just ripping it off and throwing it away. This seemed to work well the first day. LeeAnne

Kelsey has used pantyliners for her problems holding her bowels. Saves panties. We just explained it as needing to keep her clean, and she never questioned it. She was 4.

I know you are talking about suits that are easy for potty-land, but for swim training I found a great suit! It is made by speedo and there is a boy and girl version. The girl version is a one-piece with panels sewn in. Into the panels you put "balloons" that you blow up. There are 3 in the front and 3 in the back. It allows their arms to be free!! You can take out and put in the balloons as you see improvement in swimming skills. You can find it on speedo.com You can also find other cute suits (they have a great sale section) on their website. The floatation suit costs about $26.00. We love it and just ordered the next size!! --claudia

Lee Anne - I got a couple of tankinis and Maia was a bit set back by the two piece concept but when I explained that it was because it would make it easier to go potty she liked the idea. Thanks for telling me about this!!
