It is my understanding (and I could very well be wrong)that mri can't see nerve damadge because the nerves are too small...I sometimes think doctors may do them to rule other things and part of me wonders about doing expemsive tests to cover up for the fact that they really don't know what they're doing!!! Just my opinion.

we were going to have an MRI done for Maia before primary surgery but her TCH doc told us that they did a small study there..found that out of 100 MRI's only 5 matched what they found inside. So with that info we cancelled the MRI.

When Maia was dislocated - we did xrays, MRI and CT scan to see if that was the true diagnosis or if it was something else.

Only the CT scan showed the dislocation. The MRI report said atrophy. So the MRI shows soft tissue where the CT scan shows structural stuff.
