counting blessings

Post by sharlon »

hi everyone, like many of you i have had an extremely hard time emotionally with my child's pain and suffering, and with all of the issues that i have had to deal with, such as insurance , therapy, drs appointments traveling, recovery after surgery etc. the list is long. a some point i changed my daily prayers from a request for help to thanking God for my many blessings. Now i have a friend who is going through a very difficult time, i have passed this valuable information on to her because it has helped me realize what a wonderful life i have. i know that we get frustrated and sometimes the pain of this situation is so overwhelming. i am so thankful that i have ubpn as a resource and a source for venting and for all of you,

I agree that this could be a way to help you out of a downward spiral. I have had times where I am bummed out and mad (So many emotions) After awhile you have to decide that being sad or frustrated isn't going to help you or your kids...I even have taken out a piece of paper and written down ALL I have to be thankful for....sometimes it starts out with small things, like...I'm really thankful I have a dining room table....How many people in the WORLD can say that??? I know that may sound silly to some but I know if I can see the little things it will help me see the big things.
Thanks Sharlon for your reminder...eventhough we know things, sometimes we need someone to remind us!!
Have a great day!

That's the way to go.....
When I have a really bad day... I just say Thank you for my Pillow.... LOL....

but it works for me....

Last June when my Granddaugher was born three months premature... I was beyond what to pray for... so I began to Thank God for her every breath... and that I could see her even if I could not touch her for months.... and I am still saying thank you every day... she is doing so well..

It works for me... and you guys have so much to contend with...
