Was just wondering how some of the kids who are post triangle tilt doing after a year or more after sugery? Have other issues come up such as with posture, continued winging, etc? Thanks - Camille B.

My son is only 9 months post TT, but continues to look very good. No other issues have come up.

My daughter, Peyton underwent the triangle tilt in 02/2005 (she had just turned 6 at the time) and is continuing to do wonderfully after the surgery.
The alignment that was achieved in the shoulder was fantastic and she has more supination then she ever had, and any pronation she had lost immediately after surgery was regained.
Her posture and winging are much improved (but she is active in dance/gymnastics, and I think that has a lot to do with strengthening her core muscles and improving her posture).
I am grateful we made the decision to do her surgery as she is able to use her arm more functionally now then prior to surgery. It is always a tough decision to make. We had a post-operative follow-up in October and were told that there is nothing further surgically for her in the near future and to continue what we are doing.

My son had the triangle tilt July 2005, he was 7 almost 8 years old. We also have improved alignment since surgery, however, we seemed to have regressed some since surgery. Some of the elbow flaring has returned, and a lot of it I think is from habit. But overall his arm is in a better position than before surgery and functionally better also. Email me if you have any other questions or would like to see pre/post surgery pictures.

Hi,
Alyssa had the TT back in May 2005 and she too has regressed some since surgery. We just saw Dr. Nath this past Friday in Las Vegas and he is now recommeding we do the ACR OR the Humeral Osteotomy in about 1.5 years. He said her TT only took partially and he thinks the ligaments in the shoulder are very tight and he wants to release those. I am still trying to absorb everything he said so don't quote me here! Alyssa was also fitted for Theratogs that she will start wearing day and night and hopefully this will help her posture (swayback) and maybe help in other areas and hopefully we won't have to do another surgery!! I am not sure if we can handle a 5th!

Our daughter Bailey(10) had TT in April. She seems to be doing very well. She is week in several areas but we are in OT 2x per week. Her supination has improved somewhat and hopefully will improve more with continued therapy.
