Continued Pain - Looking for Relief

My wife suffered a TBI 18 months ago. She has been through nerve grafting (cable graft) OT/PT and has regained movement in her shoulder and elbow, but limited use of fingers. She can use only the little finger and ring finger. However, she still has continual pain in her arm and hand. She takes medications, but some of them either make her really sleepy, or slur her speech. She has been going to a pain clinic a University of Utah, for nerve block shots, but they suggested a SCS, or a spinal cord stimulator. It is a device that is implaned next to the spinal cord, and emits electrical impulses to mask the pain. Has anyone tried this? The last thing she wants to do is go through another surgery.
She has been throu many of them in the last 18 months.
We need help.

I just put spinal cord stimulator under the search options on this site and you can find quite a bit of discussion. Maybe try that.

Before I carry on too much, can you tell us:

How old are you and your wife?

What Medication is your wife on and how much?

What Level of Damage and Which Nerves were injured?

I'm sorry your wife is where she is but hopefully through this site and the wealth of info here you'll both maybe get some peace.
