- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.
My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!
I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".

Dear Dani,
My heart & Prayers go out to you. Please know that YOU WILL GET THRU THIS travail. You will be stronger for this time & travail. Your child will be proud of you when he/she is old enough to be told and understand what you have done on his/her behalf. Believe me, just that you have done all of this will make your child proud.
Other parents who have had the same outcome will post soon to reassure you, I am sure. We all are Family. We are here for you.

Dani,
I am so sorry that you are feeling as though you can't make it through this. We personally never travelled down this avenue, so I cannot say I know what you are going through. I can offer you my prayers and emotional support though. Each day I would have to guess would get better. I am hoping that other families that have experienced exactly what you are currently experiencing will post and give you some guidance.
Take one day or moment for that sake at a time.
Best wishes.

Our prayers are with you, you have to change your direction now. I know how hard that is, but you will figure it out. I will pray for your strength and wisdom. May you find a way to cope that shows how totally strong you are. There is a Poem that I have heard a few time that gives me such comfort. I don't know who wrote it Or where to find it, but I says that God choose the parents of children with disabilities because they are STRong! and he knew we could handle it. So if God has faith in you...............So do I. Sincerely, Sandi Raney

Dani,
I'm so sorry things didn't go your way with your case. I also will be praying for you. I totally agree with the last poster that God gives us the children we are supposed to have and we are strong enough to deal with all of the complications. I know sometimes it doesn't feel that way, but you are strong enough to make it through this. I will be praying for you and your family as you deal with this reality and what it means for the future.

Dani,
I have no personal experiece similar to yours to share with you, but I agree with those who have already posted. Some people say that G-d does not give us anything that we and Him cannot handle. Trust in that. Mourn for your loss, but know that you've done the best that you could for your child, and keep doing the best that you can. My prayers are with you.

Re: we lost our trial: what now?
Dani, I'm sorry you lost your trial. We settled ours but I wanted to write to tell you that this so called "win" wasn't a win at all. It gave me no closure whatsoever. It didn't help us financially in any way, none of the money comes to us, only to our son after he's 18. It didn't stop the doctor from practicing. I took on a lawsuit so that we could try to get someone to see that this doctor shouldn't be practicing. So even though we "won", we didn't. We lost. This doctor has injured more children since. There's two sides to every story and the grass isn't (always) greener on the other side. Time will help you feel better about this I hope.

Thanks everyone! I do want you to know that the doctor is no longer delivering babies. That was my biggest goal at the beginnin of this ordeal. She cannot hurt others, at least not right now. So, guess what? that is a win! Just pray no one will ever insure her again! Thanks and keep praying for us!
