TODAY AT THERAPY WHEN THOMAS WAS IN HIS ELBOW SPLINT HE LIFTED HIS ARM UP MAYBE 45% I WAS SO HAPPY. THIS IS THE FIRST MOVEMENT HE HAS HAD IN HIS SHOULDER EVER. HE IS ALMOST 5 MONTHS POST PRIMARY SURGERY. AS FOR THE SITTING AND LOW TONE WE ARE STILL WORKING. HE CAN SIT UP TO 1-2 MINUTES BEFORE HE FALLS OVER. BUT HE CAN GO ON HIS BELLY AND GET INTO EVERY THING .I NEVER HAVE BEEN SO HAPPY TO SEE THAT.
I ALSO WANT TO THANK ALL OF YOU HOW WROTE AND ARE PRAYING FOR MY MOTHER SHE IS STILL NOT DOING WELL AND WE ARE LOOKING INTO WAYS TO GET HER SOME COMFORT SHE IS AN INDEPENTED WOMAN AND DOES NOT WANT TO GIVE IN BUT I CAN'T STAND TO SEE HER SUFFER. PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR HER. THANKS FOR ALL OF YOU FOR BEING A PLACE FOR JOYS AND SORROW AND FOR BEING SOME GREAT FRIENDS. CARRON AND THOMAS

Carron, I am so happy for you and Thomas! I love the feeling of seeing a new movement...there are no words to describe it to anyone, but we who go through the good and bad times of this injury know what it feels like exactly. Your mother is in my prayers! I think all moms have that certain sense of "I am a strong woman and nobody can make me do anything, or something to that effect" I think they are more stubborn than anything, but of course in a good way! My mother needs a back operation on three blown disks, but refuses to get it. She says she will suffer and deal with it b/c nobody is cutting her open. I differ in that case...I would have it done in a second. Thats my mom for ya! Anyway, I hope your mother finds comfort soon and as I said she is in my prayers.
Yey, Thomas...keep up the good work! Hugs to all of you!

GO THOMAS!!
Gosh I can remember he first time I saw movement in Aaron's arm, I about dropped to my knees to give thanks to God. Those are special moments. I pray your mother finds comfort soon.

Carron - these little things are just the greatest miracles on earth!! Prayers of gratitude!! Time to give charity. We are still praying for your mom. I hope you tell her all about Thomas's new movements- this news should lift her spirits and bring her some joy. Big hugs to you too - how hard it must be to be in the middle of two extreme emotions.

Hi, Carron. What great news about Thomas. I've learned that this injury gives us a real lesson in patience b/c the progress happens so slowly sometimes, but as long as it's still continuing that is good!

I'm also very sorry about your Mom. I'm sure it is very difficult for her emotionally to have to give up some independence. I hope you can all work it out so that she is comfortable. We're going through a lot with my f-i-l right now as he has lung cancer which has progressed quite a bit. I know it is a very physically and emotionally draining experience for everyone in the family. Anyway, you're in my thoughts and prayers. Take care.
