tbpi gold medal at paralympics!

Rachael Battersby (tbpi now amputated) got a gold for New Zealand in the womens downhill....she lives in my town, must try and meet her....WELL DONE RACHAEL just shows you can do anything even with a really bad injury.. here's her details http://www.paralympics2002.com/ also found this interesting article, food for thought here http://wintersports2002.com/oly/view/0, ... 01,00.html?

sorry, that's not a direct link to her biography....you need to scroll down to 'site map' then click on athlete biographies and Rachael is in the New Zealand section. Maybe there are other bpi injured people competing too, anyone know?

Jenny,

Don't know about this year, but at the last summer Paralympics a gold medal in cycling went to Matthew Grey, who has a brachial plexus injury. We emailed him and invited him to "appear" on the message board (only one at that time), which he did.

....Rachael won another 2 golds for NZ, slalom and giant slalom. i think this is very impressive, well done!

Thomas Oelsner, cross-country skier of Germany "lost the use of his arm in a motorcycle accident". He just lost a medal due to drug testing, which he contests. Anyway, sounds like another bpi?
