Ah yea got it, had to paste in another window.
I am actually not that thrilled at the idea of a doctor administering anaesthesia into my brachial plexus without me being awake.....altho it would be the world's worst doctor who didn't notice my tbpi whether I was awake or not!
Doesn't look like this tool is as much diagnostic as enabling them to accurately locate the plexus?? Don't think ultrasound could really see any plexus damage, be great if it could, no more nasty emgs, myelograms etc etc

It sounds like that ipod ultrasound is for locating the brachial plexus to administer a regional anesthesia. I don't think it is useful for diagnosing injury.

I have been reliably informed that an ultrasound will not pick up any damage to the plexus such as we have. It can apparently pick up on lumps such as nodes founds on the lymph glands in the axilla that are produced by certain forms of cancer. Not having seen one of the portable hand held variety, I can't really comment on it, but I have to agree that this new gadget doesn't exactly fill me with joy either for the same reasons that Jenny states.
Thanks for posting the link Court!
