This four-day event will include:
Thursday & Friday - BPI Clinic with Dr. Nath, Dr. Pape and a panel of therapists, Theratog Clinic with Beverly Cusick PT
Friday Evening - Parent Workshop with Dr. Nath & Dr. Pape and Beverly Cusick PT
Saturday & Sunday - Course For Therapists with Dr. Pape, Dr. Nath and Beverly Cusick PT (details below)
Integrated Case Management of the Child with an Early Neurologic Injury
by Dr. Karen Pape, Dr. Rahul Nath and Beverly Cusick PT (Theratogs)
Objectives: At the conclusion of this program the participants will be able to:
~ Understand current treatment options for children with Brachial Plexus Injury
~ Identify indications and contraindications for use of TES and SEMG-Triggered STIM
~ Choose appropriate modalities and parameters of use for hypothetical cases
~ Understand the intervention strategies offered by treatment of disuse muscle atrophy in childhood neurologic problems
~ Understand the complimentary nature of TES and SEMG-Triggered STIM in spasticity management programs and functional skill training
~Learn to recognize developmental apraxia in children with Brachial Plexus Injury and Spina Bifida
~ Construct and support an effective home program (including Theratogs)
Pre-registration for the clinic and the parent workshop is done by emailing Dr. Nath's Clinic Coordinator at sclinic@drnathmedical.com.
Pre-registration for a theratog consult and fitting is also done by emailing sclinic@drnathmedical.com. Deadline for togging registration is September 15, 2006. Appointments are extremely limited because of the time it takes to "tog" each child.
