Breast Bone protruding a bit

Post by rachelcasa »

Does anyone who is injured notice their breast bone protruding out abnormally? I've been noticing mine for quite sometime and it's really bothering me. I am wondering if it could be a build up of scar tissue from my surgery. Perhaps its just summer and I am a bit self-conscious wearing tank tops and busty to begin with. *L* Just curious.

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

My doctor/GYN just explained a lump between my breasts is actually a bone protruding...
I noticed it in my late thirties and every doctor said it was nothing... He was the first to explain it.

Now that I am older I don't wear those type of tops anymore... LOL... don't want to scare anyone... LOL..

Kath,
Wow, isn't it amazing what happens in our 30's! That is about exactly how I am starting to feel. Not wanting to wear those types of tops anymore. Hmm...I figured it was something like that. It does not hurt it just pops out a bit.
Thanks for the help Kath. How are you and your family doing? I hope everyone is doing great. Remember, if you ever swing by Montana give me a ring. It's great here in the summertime.

Please have a doctor examine you just to make sure it is nothing else... I have kept a close eye on this for years now and still have each of my doctors make sure that it is nothing... I noticed it 25 years ago.. I guess around the time you were born...

It is always best to keep an eye on strange bulges...
Not the normal ones we girls get... LOL...

My family is growing so quickly I can't believe it.
Soon my grandchildren will be as tall as me...
How are your kids doing? Off for summer vacation?

Kath,
I have an appointment next week so I'm going to have them look at it. The kids get out of school today. We had a suprise 8th grade graduation party for my nephew who I am raising and it was great. He graduates tonight and I can't believe he is a Freshman. Kayla's baseball team took first and were undefeated all season. It was great! Busy busy as summer arrives but I'm enjoying every minute of it.

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.

My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!

I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".
