Hi Everybody,
I am looking into kinesio taping and wondering if anyone knows of a certified OT/PT in the DFW area?
Thank you.

my daghter (4, mild LOBPI) overcompensated when we taped. We found it was doing more harm than good.

To this day I wish I had before and after pictues of my 18 month olds' kinesiotaping adventures! Aidan has been using the tape since May and it is wonderful. He wears his for as long as it lasts (usually 4-6 days) then I give his skin 24 hours to recoup before reapplying. You can look at him and immediately tell the days he's wearing his tape and when he's not. I'm also an OT so the benefits from this position wise and strengthening wise while he's wearing it are wonderful! I highly recommend it but BE SURE that you have someone applying it correctly! There are some precautions about applying the tape and how to apply it. Ask therapists if they have expreience using this with BPI kids! Good luck! Also- we buy our own. I found it for approx. $20 a roll for the waterproof tape on Ebay including shipping. Mom's with boys- beware- the red tape is really pink!

The ways I heard it could be harmful had to do with incorrect application, positioning the tape in the wrong areas and causing the wrong muscles to be triggered. Definately want to find someone who knows what they are doing! Also- be cautious with skin reaction. Never pull the tape and apply. Always allow it to positon at a loose state not pulled tight.
