family asking lots of questions!

Post by Missy »

I'm still getting phone calls from relatives and friends about the 20/20 show last week.

I have a cousin (35) who is expecting her first child and called with all kinds of questions about BPIs. I directed her to Francine's web site and sent her the link to the doctor's question list.

I have an aunt who is a paralegal and told me that their law firm sees "quite a few" BPI cases. She couldn't say anything more than that about the outcomes and such. She said that watching the program upset her terribly and really opened her eyes to this injury.

And another aunt of mine called me last night to ask me what I thought of the program. She said she was dumbfounded and bothered by it. We talked for over an hour about BPIs and she kept saying "I just had no idea how bad this was".

The doors have opened.

It has helped, but have you been keeping up with the ABC message boards? There are posts from healthcare providers about how "lucky" we should be that our children are alive and we should be grateful for that. They just don't get it.

We should all continue to post on the ABC message board regarding this subject so they see that it is a "hot" topic.

Hi Donna,

I read some of the posts yesterday and yes they are fusterating to see how no matter what, some people just wont get it. But I think it's good that the 20/20 message board is still showing activity. They are more likely to do a follow-up story after getting contriversal responses.

I called to order the video tape and when I told the operator which tape I wanted, she went on to tell me that she saw the show and was shocked. She is pregnant with her first child and is now planning on discussing the possible of BP with her Doctor.

Hi Missy, my sister-in-law saw the 20/20 episode on BPI and she said as soon as she seen it she said that is what my niece has. She told me about it and I went on line and found out more about BPI and this is how I found out about this web site. I just signed on this web site this morning and it has also been a big help for me know that me and my husband are not the only ones going through this. Good luck.
