I had a nerve Transplant procedure done back on November 17th. The onlt improvement has been with my fingers with increased strength and mobility. As for my upper arm, nothing. Dr. Sanger says we need not worry until a year after the Transplant surgery and no response. However, should I notice gradual improvements? When I try to flex my bicept I can feel some contraction, but no results. PLease share your story. Thanks

Hi Fredrick. Bottom line, nerves grow only ~1 inch per month - so your expectation of when you might see results is based on the length of growth required to innervate the muscle. Your surgeon should be able to answer that for you. The think I don't know is if muscles can move as soon as the nerve makes initial contact, or if the nerve needs to grow into the muscle to some extent first.

Keep us posted,
