does anybody get itching feeling underneath the skin? i get these episodes a couple times a day, where i want to rip my skin off and scratch the #$%t out of it. i always think this is a good sign but i'm not sure.it goes from below the elbow all the way to fingertips. this is where i have no feeling or movement. can anybody relate or ever had these feelings before? thanks to all and god bless.

It's probably the weird neurogenic pain/feelings one gets when there is nerve damage. Can be a good sign of feeling coming back. But yes, it can get annoying!

my son (2) robpi has a severe injury, one of his very first words was "eech". he sometimes bites at his hand and wrist or asks someone to itch it for him. we were told also that this is a very good sign.

I had a BPI 30 years ago and had my arm amputated above elbow 18 months after that. I still suffer pain and 2 or 3 times a year get the most frustrating itching in the elbow that isn't there. It seems to be a fairly common phantom limb experience.

grrr... the itching is the worst. you just cant get to it... like having poison oak and being in a straight-jacket. it is a good sign though??

Can be a good sign. In my case, I still get it 26 years down the track and it can be almost unbearable. It's definitely a phantom limb thing in my case so not a sign of regeneration for me! Hope it's a good sign for you :0)

My armpit, where all my nerve grafts went through to feed my biceps and muscle transfer, itch like mad a dozen times a day. After surgery, when I still had staples in there, it looked like grand central station. Four different scars all crossing at one point but going no where... I keep one thinking that it's just part of that 'healing' itch you get when a scar is starting to settle down, problem is, is that it's been three years. So maybe like JennyB's, it's for the long haul. Who knows... good luck.
