How to cope...

Post by Dulcet1pms »

Hello again everyone. Polly here. I have one more thing to ask you all. My hubby is in constant severe chronic pain, as I am sure most of you can relate to in some way. We have been dealing with it for over 5 years now, and I am starting to have difficulty dealing with it. He is my absolute best friend. Was is and always will be, so to watch him be tortured in this manner every day is getting VERY depressing. We have him in counseling, as well as our son. Mixed with everything else we have to pay for, I can't afford to put me in too. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with the emotional side effects of this? No drugs or alcohol, or anything like that. Can't stand either of em.

My husband has been in your position. The way he deals with it is, 1st; prayer, & 2nd; jogging or brisk walking. He says it really helps relieve the stress and depression. I don't know if this helps you at all but I hope so. My pain is not as severe as it was at first. I'm thankful for that! God be with you both.

Stay on this board and talk. This is a great place to be for support, for venting, for counselling, for general pick me ups. i check it every day

Get exercise and don't begrudge yourself your you time. It is not being selfish, rather it is self presentation.

Good luck!!

Thank you both for your replies. I will try the run/walk. I hope that I can make time for it. Many blessings to you. I do pray daily. I know that God won't give me anything I can't handle, I just wish he didn't trust me so much...
